Convened by WWF-Canada, the first-ever collaborative report on the status of blue carbon across Canada was produced in 2023. The report, "Coastal Blue Carbon in Canada: State of Knowledge," was authored by over 30 experts from academia, NGOs, government and other sectors. It covers topics including coastal ecosystems, blue carbon financing, Aboriginal and Indigenous Law, and policy and legislation, with a section dedicated to carbon in the blue economy including kelp aquaculture.
